TWD: Devils Food White Out Cake


Chocolate Cake! Do I really need to say anymore than that?

This week's recipe was chosen by Confessions of a City Eater! It was a perfect selection. I made this cake for my husband and I for Valentine's Day. We both loved it.

I didn't make the frosting in the book. I don't have a candy thermometer and by the time I realized I needed one it was too late to go out and buy one. So, I just whipped some cream and we had a whipped cream topping. Let us just say It was hard to not eat the whole cake in one sitting!

Yum, I bet the cake was delicious with whipped cream! I have to hide whipped cream from myself when I make it or I'll eat an entire bowl!

Yes, it was really quite tasty. I had to get rid of it so I would not eat the whole thing. :o)

Looks good! Several people did that no-frosting-on-the-sides thing, and I really like the way it looks.

Wish I had found your blog a few days ago . . . I would have made this cake for Heather's birthday. I did make a vegan chocolate cake with chocolate icing garnished with candied ginger that was a hit but I used organic cocoa in it and didn't think it was as dark and rich as when I used Hershey's. Any thoughts?
